I was just reading another article at a defense lawyer blog that got my blood boiling. The primary reason my blood is boiling is because I don’t know of any scholarly plaintiffs’ blogs. Are there any plaintiffs’ lawyers out there who write about substantive legal issues in a serious way? You know, articles written for a scholarly audience and not just to chase clients. If you know of any, please – please – tell me.

I wonder why you’re having such difficulty finding scholarly plaintiff lawyer’s blogs. Could it be that tort reform views are so omnipresent because it is a good idea? http://www.MDWhistleblower.blogspot.com
It seems as though you’re implying that tort reform leaves no room for plaintiffs’ lawyers at all. Assuming (for the sake of argument, anyway) that the real goal of tort reform is to weed out meritless lawsuits, that leaves room for plaintiffs’ lawyers to handle the meritorious lawsuits.
So where are the scholarly blogs by those attorneys?
I think they don’t exist because most (not all, but more than 50%) of plaintiffs’ lawyers are lazy lawyers who have little respect for the law. Many defense lawyers see the law in the same way an artist sees a palette; they appreciate the bright and the subtle tones that let them create masterpieces. Those defense lawyers blog. They write articles for law reviews. They mold the law into the image they wish it would be.
Most plaintiffs lawyers, on the other hand, seem content to bitch about tort reform and scream about decades old injustices.
If there aren’t any scholarly plaintiffs’ blogs, then that may very well be because there aren’t any scholarly plaintiffs’ attorneys. If I’m wrong, please point me in the right direction as I’m dying to hang out (even online) with people who see the law as I do.

Im addition I do not bitch about tort reform. We continue to market in an out of the box and ethical way. As a result our client intake has increased even in this age of tort reform.
One problem I am having is when Govt can’t prosecute a “GUILTY”,Corporation for knowingly poisoning/murdering thousands of people and gets away with murder, what chance do I have, to find a lawyer to represent me against these same people this(also Guilty) Govt can’t touch.This leaves the Justice system two steps back and these murderous Corporations one step forward. THIS is what is wrong today and so me and my family and a entire town will die with no justice and no fair compensation(6 thousand each from WR Grace).And Libby Mt continues to kill more people, families and children by the lies being sold that Libby is a safe place to live and raise a family.I have been promised Libby will be relocated soon but not soon enough…We need help…Thank you.
I have to ask….What do YOU think of wrongful death and Mesothelioma getting $60 thousand? All other asbestos get $20 thousand….The sick, dying and dead people of Libby Mt were just told this after waiting 11 years. Does anyone know what a human life is worth? Any lawyers want to nail these bastards for the people of Libby. These lawyers made millions and sold all of us down the river.And these amounts…before lawyer fees and we all have to pay back all Medicare and Medicaid spent on us…PLUS, the spouses get money too but this also comes out of our/my settlement.Talked about getting fucked without being kissed.The people of Libby Mt have endured hell and now this…Vigalante Justice…What do you all think???
